
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She is an attacker and captain for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the highest division of women's soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from 2018 until 2020. [8][9] Morgan was chosen as the top pick in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she was able to graduate early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional with the club and assisted the team win the league championship. Morgan aged 22 at the time was the youngest athlete on the national team in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, which the team finished second. Morgan scored the game-winning goal in the semi-final match against Canada in the semi-final game during the 2012 London Olympics. She was the second player in the United States to have 20 goals and 21 assists in 2012. This made her the youngest and sixth most prolific athlete in the world to score 20 goals in a single year. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, and was an FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan contributed to helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was selected for the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
