Carey is a former top model in fashion who measured at almost 5'10" she was a favorite of American designers like Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. Her father was an eminent scientist and was awarded the title of Scientist from 1979 by Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. Carey's father was a geologist and traveled across the globe as part of his professional career. While she attended in the University of Colorado, Carey started modeling for a side. The Ford Model Agency in New York noticed her and asked for help. The model lived in France briefly, in Paris and Bordeaux. Then she returned to New York for her college study and further to build her modeling career. Between her modelling assignments she was enrolled in the study of literature at New York University. After graduation, in New York she began to study acting. Her first acting experience was in as a character alongside Robin Williams in the 1986 film "Club Pardise. In her spare time, she enjoys skiing, white-water rafting, windsurfing, and rock climbing.
