Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue Taylor is an American actress and producer best known for the roles she performed in Ray Undercover Brother, The Mentalist and The TV show The Mentalist. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in African-American Studies at Brown University, and a Master in acting at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. Aunjanue is a film and theater actress as well as a producer. Her acting journey began with theater, and was later featured in several television series and independent and mainstream film. Her biggest success came as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico, and also appeared on BET's acclaimed series The Book of Negroes. Both of the roles she won critical acclaim as well as a variety of nominations and awards including her first award, the Television Critics Choice Award for the Best Actress. She made her professional acting debut when she played Ariel on the stage in The Tempest in 1995. She has performed on Broadway in Come and Gone, A Winter's Tale, Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. The film work she has done is appreciated for films such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express, and The Help. Her character as a regular on ABC's drama-police series High Incident earned her praises.
